StartupMarket

End-to-end platform development for the entrepreneurial ecosystem

We built StartupMarket from the ground up, a platform connecting entrepreneurs with investors. By standardizing how startups present financials, milestones, and pitches, we made it easier for investors to compare opportunities. Following the MVP's success, we expanded the platform enabling corporate investors to access larger funding possibilities.

StartupMarket is a SaaS-based fundraising platform that connects startups with investors, mentors, and corporate partners. It simplifies the investment process by standardizing startup data, making it easier for investors to evaluate opportunities.

In October 2023, StartupMarket was acquired by Fongogo, a leading crowdfunding platform. This merger aimed to accelerate funding access for startups, directing resources toward high-potential and sustainable business ideas while strengthening StartupMarket’s role in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Origins of the platform

For years, the startup ecosystem lacked a structured platform where entrepreneurs could effectively showcase their businesses to investors. While many had promising ideas, they struggled to present them in a way investors could easily evaluate. StartupMarket was born out of this need, and we were entrusted with bringing the project to life from concept to launch.

What began as an MVP focused on individual investors soon evolved into a long-term partnership, expanding the platform with an investment management tool for corporate investors and simplifying connections between startups and investors across all levels.

Main goal of the project

The goal of building StartupMarket was more than just creating a startup listing platform. It aimed to become a centralized hub where entrepreneurs could set up their profiles, showcase their businesses, and connect with investors, mentors, and service providers.

The platform’s goal was to organize startup data in a way that allowed for quick comparison by standardizing how startups present their financials, milestones, and elevator pitches, making investor analysis easier and clearer, improving the experience for everyone involved.

Building from the ground up

Through extensive meetings with StartupMarket’s founders, we provided technical guidance and business insights that helped shape the platform’s direction. Beyond product development, our collaboration refined the project’s strategy, ensuring that it goes beyond simple matchmaking and instead prepares entrepreneurs to pitch effectively while giving investors the tools to evaluate opportunities efficiently.

To achieve this, we developed a standardized data presentation system, making it easier for investors to compare many startups at a glance. The platform features a clean, structured interface, ensuring that all relevant information is organized in a single place for quick analysis.

Startups and investors can create profiles effortlessly, with all data presented in a consistent and organized format. Investors have access to key startup details, including company overviews, market insights, funding history, and founder information, while a timeline feature highlights major milestones and progress, offering deeper insights into a startup’s growth.

Investors can also track startups by adding them to their radar, request meetings with founders, and message them directly within the platform, making it easy to discover and connect with potential investment opportunities. Beyond investors, white-collar professionals can mentor startups, offering guidance and expertise to support their growth, further enriching the ecosystem beyond just financial support.

As StartupMarket evolved beyond its initial MVP, the focus expanded from individual investors to corporate investors, requiring a more structured approach to large-scale funding. To support this shift, we developed an advanced Investment Management Tool, enabling institutional investors to identify, evaluate, and manage investment opportunities in high-potential ventures.

This transition wasn’t just about adding new features; it was made possible by a strong foundation built from the start, ensuring the platform scales seamlessly and adapts to the needs of larger investors.
