Identifying needs through user feedback
We kickstarted the process with in-depth interviews with over 50 test users, specifically those with a background in sales. This customer-centric approach helped us clearly understand their main issues and the features they found most useful. Through user testing and surveys, we pinpointed issues and made system-wide improvements across the entire platform, enhancing functionality and user experience.
With eight years of comprehensive insights, including user behavior patterns, sales metrics, and frequently used filters, we built a highly interactive Looker Studio dashboard. This tool was key in gathering valuable insights to help us make data-driven decisions about product features and user intentions.
Solution design and prototype validation
After gathering the mentioned feedback, we thoroughly discussed the solutions we designed first with Bookyourdata's legal team, then with data, marketing, and support teams, and finally with the SEO team, led by a well-known ex-Googler. Each idea and solution was refined through the diverse insights from every department.
Together, we built a platform in full compliance with GDPR and CCPA standards, ensuring robust data security and adherence to regulatory requirements. This harmonious collaboration between our teams enabled us to overcome regulatory challenges, a task we managed successfully despite working remotely from different countries.
Designing and building the platform
Following our prototype validation, we developed a PoC version with core functionalities capable of filtering hundreds of millions of data in milliseconds in just four weeks. To manage and analyze Big Data efficiently, our backend team enhanced the system's capabilities by pushing PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch to their limits, while our DevOps team collaborated with the Azure team for solid cloud architecture. And for enhanced security and speed, we chose Cloudflare.
To facilitate transactions, we incorporated Stripe for payments and used a variety of third-party services to ensure data integrity and validity across the platform. In the meantime, our frontend and UI/UX design team joined forces to create a brand-new design system with React components to modernize the design language of bookyourdata.com. On top of a smooth UI/UX design process, our team also added exceptional illustrations that not only captivate visually but also serve as functional guides for users, effectively uniting aesthetics with usability.
Continuous platform enhancements
With the launch of the new bookyourdata.com following a long and intensive collaboration, our journey is still far from over. Since we use Webflow for CRM on the landing page, our content and SEO teams continue to work in harmony, ensuring ongoing optimization and engagement without the need to evolve cycles with the development team.
Meanwhile, our integration with Segment helps us to centralize tracking of all actions within bookyourdata.com. Therefore, we've enabled the marketing, sales, and data teams to keep track of their own cycles. Thanks to our Segment integration, we have seamlessly integrated bookyourdata.com with multiple services such as HubSpot, Intercom, Mixpanel, and others. With the data we send to these platforms, we empower the sales and support teams to make every decision more data-centric and efficient. Additionally, our deep-rooted experience with Cloudflare ensures we consistently overcome security challenges, maintaining a safe environment for users.
